Berent has deep Corporate Finance knowledge and investment skills which are germain to his role at Jellagen. He has a strong track record of delivering operational excellence and relevant experience across major corporate finance roles in multiple geographic markets. He also has relevant expertise in investing in fast growing businesses and his background will be instrumental to advise management on financing Jellagen’s future growth as well as any potential M&A issues.

Berent holds an MBA degree (lic. oec. HSG) from St Gall Graduate School in Switzerland in economics, business administration and law. He was a member of the executive committee of the annual ISC Symposium.

In 1981, he joined JP Morgan & Co where he worked for 8 years, holding multiple roles, including VP Merger and Acquisitions in New-York (1986-1989). For the next 4 years he helped build the European Corporate Finance business of Ermgassen & Co before moving to Goldman Sachs where he worked for 13 years as Head of the Nordic Investment Banking practice. He progressively expanded the business to become the leading international investment bank in the region.

Thereafter he joined the Executive Committee at Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Banking in charge of global client management before moving to head up Leonardo’s pan-European corporate finance business. During his five years (2010-2015) tenure he revamped the German business, bought a Swiss company and established the Nordic business by opening offices in Stockholm and Oslo.

Currently Berent is a Private Equity investor as Partner of Caphaven LLP as well as an angel investor.

Berent has been appointed Non-Executive Director, Member of Jellagen Board in April 2018.
